The PDPA Amendment Act 2024, which was passed by the Dewan Rakyat on 31 July 2024, stipulated that all Data Controllers (entities processing personal data) have to mandatory appoint a DPO to be registered with PDP Commissioner office. Failure to comply would be subject to heavy compound fine and/or jail term.
The UNIMAS Professional programme in Cybersecurity for DPO is designed for re-skilling and up-skilling of existing employees to be trained to undertake the role and responsibility of a DPO.
